Addiction, one word that conjures so many images … none very positive or supportive of the individual.

For the one struggling with substance use disorder, there may be feelings of guilt, shame, hopelessness, and failure. No matter how hard you may try, it seems difficult to get ahead and remain free of a chemical substance.

For those walking alongside someone struggling with the disease, there may be feelings of fear, anger, and disappointment. Questions of what could or should have been done to prevent the disease are common.

Whether you are struggling with substance use disorder yourself or walking alongside someone who does,  one thing holds true — there is always hope and help available.

Help for today and hope for tomorrow is the message being shared.
